Jesus stressed the importance of daily bread. He tells us that we should pray for daily bread. Food is so vital to our lives, and the word of God is no different.

Deuteronomy 8:3
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Jesus uses the everyday nourishment and the need for bread to teach us the importance of the Word of God in our lives. The Word of God is a great substance for the believer.
Some believers may say they have no time, no education, no person to help them understand God’s Word, but many times the truth of the matter is that they have NO DESIRE for the Word of God.

There is the difference in a person who is hungry and one who is starving to death. The hungry fills themselves daily and doesn’t wait until they are malnourished or sickly to eat.

Produce is defined as things that have been produced or grown, especially by farming. Things such as fruit of vegetable crops. Producer means the maker, author, or framer of something. It is God that has provided or produced the Word for us. It is by His production of the seed that brings fruit in our lives.

If people, IF WE, are to be truly changed it will happen only through the Word of God.

God’s Word is compared to a seed here in Luke 8:11. But so many times we are tempted to see the soil in this parable more than the seed. If we were to look at the entire text of this lesson, we would see that:

-
The seed sown, fell on different types of grounds or soil
-
In almost every case, the seed grew! Given a chance, it will always grow. It’s what it grows in or on that’s the problem
